Amended Return

An amended return is used to correct a tax return that has already been filed. Although the IRS typically corrects math errors and requests missing forms, you should file an amended return if you incorrectly reported the following information: your filing status, your total income, or your deductions or credits. Filing an amended return requires use of IRS

Form 1040X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.
